FASHION ICONS IN THE WORLD OF CINEMA

A Fashion Icon is a public figure that their personal image and style and its appearance has caused a large number of people imitating their aesthetics and or fashion houses are inspired by them.

Marlene Dietrich, (Berlin, December 27, 1901 – Paris, May 6, 1992) was a German actress and singer who became a U.S. citizen. It is considered one of the main myths of the Seventh Art as well as the ninth best female star of all time by the American Film Institute. Dietrich, whose androgynous style caught on the use of male clothing (such as the tuxedo) by women.

   

Louise Brooks (1906 – 1985) was an American actress who became one of the most famous faces of silent films. It is known mainly for her roles in silent filmsduring the last half of the decade of the 1920s in the United States and, above all, for three films made in Europe between 1929 and 1930. Brooks whose short haircut and bangs is one of the symbols of the interwar period.

  

Veronica Lake (November 14, 19221 – July 7, 1973) was a famous film actressand pin-up model that won the American public and critical acclaim during the ’40s. its iconic platinum hair, called peekaboo, hiding one eye was universallyimitated immediately.

  

Marilyn Monroe, (June 1, 1926 –  August 5, 1962), born Norma Jeane Mortenson, was an actress, singer and model. Over time, became one of the most famous Hollywood actresses and one of the leading sex symbols of all time. She was the icon of femininity that has influenced many artists like Madonna, Gwen Stephanie and Lindsay Lohan. We will talk more about her in future posts.

 

Edith Sedgwick (Santa Barbara, California, April 20, 1943 – November 16, 1971), was an actress and model said to be a member of a prestigious family American socialite and for having acted in several films directed by Andy Warhol. Icon of femininity of women and physical simplicity of those who really want to achieve your goals.

 

Audrey Hepburn (Ixelles / Elsene, Belgium, May 4, 1929 – Tolochenaz, Switzerland, January 20, 1993) was an Anglo-Belgian actress, Oscar winner. Is known for being the first actress to beat the trend rather than the casual look glamorous. She was the pioneer of the “girls are not divas” who are a whole pattern of our time. However, it’s innovation,youthful spontaneity, the “angel face” with his freshness on the screen and wearing their dress, styles and fashions imposed, transformed the history of cinema as one of the myths of cinema. In addition, Audrey Hepburn is alsoknown for being a dancer, model and its many humanitarian efforts. The American Film Institute is considered the third best female star of all time.

     

Brigitte Bardot (September 28, 1934, Paris) is a French actress and sex symbolof the mid-twentieth century. Along with Sophia Loren is one of the few survivorsof classic cinema. a French diva blonde hair and dark eye makeup is still a reference for artists such as Claudia Schiffer.
